How Much Does It Cost to Hire a Cartoonist?
Hiring a cartoonist can vary widely in cost, with rates typically starting around $25 per hour. However, prices depend on several factors, including the artist's skill level, reputation, experience, and even their location.
I pride myself on offering reasonable and affordable pricing. More importantly, I strive to provide excellent value—not just through high-quality artwork but also through exceptional customer care.
While I use hourly rates as a guide, I prefer to charge by the project. This approach is more straightforward and offers clarity for clients, who know exactly what they’ll be paying upfront.
Because every project is unique in scope and requirements, I don’t advertise flat rates. Instead, I encourage you to reach out for a personalized quote tailored to your needs.

How does the illustration process work?The process begins with a discussion about your project and goals. Once we finalize the scope, I provide rough concept sketches for your approval. After feedback, I move to clean-up art, followed by inking and coloring. Clients approve milestones along the way to ensure the final artwork aligns with their vision.

What is your payment policy?For new clients, I require a 50% deposit before starting the project. The remaining balance is due upon completion. For professional publishers and art directors, I offer net 30-day terms. Any major changes after milestone approvals may incur additional fees.

How long does it take to complete a project?Timelines depend on the scope and complexity of the project. On average, most illustrations take 1–2 weeks. For larger projects, we’ll establish a clear timeline during the initial consultation.

How many revisions do you include?I include up to two rounds of revisions at each project milestone (rough sketches, clean-up art, and inked artwork). Additional revisions outside of these may require an extra fee, depending on the scope of changes.

Do you accept rush orders?Yes, I can accommodate rush orders depending on my availability. Rush fees may apply, and I recommend contacting me as early as possible to discuss your needs.

What files will I receive after the project is complete?You will receive high-resolution files in your preferred format, such as PNG, JPG, or PDF. For vector-based work, I can also provide AI or SVG files upon request.

Do you offer sample or spec work?No, I do not offer sample or spec work. My portfolio contains a variety of examples that showcase my style, skills, and the type of work I can create. These samples should give you a clear idea of what to expect for your project.
