I wanted to play with proportions and expressions to give this hippo a real sense of determination and excitement as he steps up to bat. His stance, bat in hand, and the hint of a competitive grin show he’s ready to hit a home run!
Creating characters like this is one of my favorite parts of cartoon illustration. Every detail, from the hippo's hefty build to his baseball cap and the glint in his eye, is meant to bring out the whimsy and joy of the sport.
